I wanted to dye a (big!) wedding dress for an outfit/costume. I wanted it to be an eggplant colour and ended up using 3x violet, 1x red and 1x black. I dyed the dress in a plastic tub (so didn't keep it boiling), left if for about an hour, constantly stirring. I made the mistake to add the red and the black once the dress was already in, to adjust the colour. The red was fine but the black touched the dress and created black spots that didn't go away.
I recommend these dyes for polyester!

At this stage I am happy with the product; it seems to do everything I expect it to accomplish, I still have further experiments I want to do with different material so at this stage I am unable to give you much of a feedback

It smells really bad and it won`t go away
Colour is great, but the smell of this dye is so very awful. I have washed the items several times and they still smell.
I have 100% polyester hi vis jumper that I dyed using stove top method.
The result is green and mottled, a bit like the dye.
